Thomasina Perkins is the Chief Empowerment Officer and Principal Publicist of Capitol Public Relations (CPR) a division of Capitol Global Strategies, a firm renowned for delivering high-level public relations, strategic marketing, brand, film and television locations management services across sports, entertainment, politics, and business. With a proven track record in crisis management, political PR, and community outreach, she has cultivated strong relationships with national and international brands, non-profit organizations, and media platforms, creating mutually beneficial opportunities for her clients.
Often referred to as the “Cultural Whisperer”, Thomasina has carved out a unique space in Culture Marketing, where she expertly bridges the gap between brands, talent, and audiences. She values DOI (Diversity, Opportunity & Inclusion) and champions’ storytelling that resonates authentically and powerfully.
A Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth Minority Business Enterprise Fellow, Thomasina is also a member of the Recording Academy (DC Grammy Chapter), the NFL Alumni Association, and serves as the DC Metro Area Network Director for the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment (NABFEME). She is also the PR & Media Team Lead for the iconic brand Black Girls Rock!
A military brat, former government civilian, and contractor turned entrepreneur; Thomasina entered the entertainment industry as a publicist for her client on AMC Networks’ (WEtv) hit reality show “Braxton Family Values.” Since then, she has worked on an extensive range of projects, including network television series (BET, BET+, Lifetime, Netflix, HBO MAX, Amazon Prime, Tubi), specials, and feature films. Listed on IMDb for her roles as Unit Publicist, Production Consultant, Casting Specialist, Showrunner, Associate Producer, and Locations Manager, she made history as the first African American woman Locations Manager listed with the DC Film Office and also leads the Capitol Locations division of CPR.
Thomasina is also a published contributing author in the book series “Women Behind the Mic: Curators of the Culture, Volume 2: The Hip-Hop Edition.”
Beyond her business ventures, Thomasina is deeply committed to community and philanthropic initiatives. Alongside Co-Executive Director Hekima Qualls, she empowered young women for over eight years through local Miss Virginia beauty scholarship pageants in the Miss America System, overseeing Miss Northern VA, Miss Capitol Region, and Miss Tysons titles. She also consulted with Miss DC USA (Miss Universe system) and played a key role in the back-to-back title wins featuring two African American Miss USAs .
A proud mother of two and grandmother of four, Thomasina resides and operates her businesses from Southeast Washington, DC.
